ULI advisory services panels provide strategic advice to sponsors on land use and real estate development issues. Panels link developers, public agencies, and other sponsors to the knowledge and experience of ULI and its membership. The developer of Tradition, on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast, engaged an advisory services panel of experts, including Jeff Kingsbury, to identify best practices for sustainable community development and apply them to Tradition.
The correlation between land use, energy and climate change comes down to building sustainable communities that withstand the test of time and evolution. It is about building for people, and building in harmony with the natural environment—not in spite of it. A ULI Advisory Group, which included Jeff Kingsbury, has explored how rising energy costs and global climate change should inform how these issues might impact the real estate industry at-large and how they are changing the day-to-day practice of land use and urban development.

Co-written by Jeff Kingsbury and other industry experts, this book covers the latest on green development practices in a variety of settings, site planning and design, costs and benefits, green building design, and maintaining sustainability. The book includes ten successful projects in the US, Australia and the UK.
